Historical home in Pompey Hill! Horatio Seymour House, 1811 birthplace of twice Governor of NYS and Democratic Candidate for President against Ulysses S. Grant. The home has been mostly gutted and in need of complete restoration. A new roof was replaced on the main portion of the home to preserve the structure. Over 200 years old and so much of the original windows, doors, moldings and fireplace are intact! The tax records show 3,624 SF but part of the back of the structural was taken down, so exact SF is hard to gage. The historical marker is prominently displayed in the front yard and several other historical buildings are located nearby.
